Frames for the People was designed by JJ James. In his words:

"I've been a full time artist for about three years, and in that time I’ve found that the biggest expense as a painter is framing. It's time consuming to make it yourself, and its expensive to buy. You can either get cheap nasty frames that have no soul and devalue your art, or you can get beautiful custom frames from a professional framer that cost a ridiculous amount of money. There isn’t really a middle ground.

I just wanted to create something that makes people want to paint."
